Where the questions come from
The questions are Augment's own, written in the style of IB exams and tagged to the syllabus. They aren't past papers. Each has a markscheme laid out the way IB markschemes are, with the marks for each step.
Finding questions
Open a subject, then a topic or subtopic, or the whole subject. Narrow the list with the filters:
- Paper, such as Paper 1 or Paper 2;
- Difficulty;
- Type: structured questions or multiple choice;
- Progress: not attempted, got right or got wrong;
- Saved: only the questions you've saved.
Sort by syllabus order, easiest first or newest first. Search finds words in the question and its code.
The list has two views. The page view shows several questions at once; the focus view shows one at a time, with ← and → to move between them.
Marking a structured question
Augment doesn't mark written answers. You answer on paper or in your head, then open the markscheme (Show markscheme, or M) and compare. Then mark yourself:
- Got it right (C)
- Got it wrong (X)
Press the same button again to take your verdict back. Be strict with yourself: a "right" you didn't earn hides a gap you'll meet in the exam. The IB guide's chapter on reading a markscheme explains the notation.
Multiple choice
Pick an option and press Check answer (or Enter). The number keys pick options too: 1 for A, 2 for B. Augment marks it for you and shows the explanation. The right answer isn't sent to your browser until you've answered.
Your progress
Each topic shows how many questions you've attempted and how many you got right. Your verdict on a question counts wherever you practice it: in the bank, in a worksheet or from a notes page.
Saving a question
The bookmark on a question (S) saves it. Saved questions have their own list (G S).
Question codes
Every question has a code such as AA-00142. It never changes, even if the question moves topic. Quote it when you tell us about a question, or search for it to find the question again.
The data booklet
On subjects with a formula or data booklet, press D or the booklet button and it opens beside the question, at the entries for that topic. See Booklets.
Reporting a mistake
Open the ⋯ menu on the question and choose Report an issue. The report is attached to that question, so you only need to say what's wrong. You can have one open report per question; once we've dealt with it you can report it again. More in Reporting a problem.
Calculator questions
Each question shows whether a calculator is allowed, as the paper it belongs to would.
