Getting started
Creating an account, confirming your email and the short setup that follows.

Creating an account
Go to Start free and enter your name, email and a password. The password needs at least 8 characters, with letters and digits.
When you press Create account, Augment asks your age in years and asks you to confirm it's true. If you're 13 to 17, it also asks you to confirm that a parent or guardian agrees to the Terms. Account and privacy explains why.
Confirming your email
We send a link to the address you gave. Open it and press the button on the page it opens; that signs you in.
- The link works once and expires after an hour.
- If nothing arrives, check your spam folder, then use Resend on the "Check your inbox" screen. You can resend once a minute.
- Trying to log in before confirming also offers to send the link again.
Signing in with Google
Where Continue with Google is available on the log in page, you can use it instead of a password. Google accounts are asked for their age once, on the first sign-in. The rule about which email a Google account can use is in Account and privacy.
The setup flow
The first time you open the dashboard, a short setup asks four things:
- your name, beside the monster picture you've been given (Regenerate draws another);
- your exam session, such as May 2027;
- your subjects, Higher Level first, then Standard Level;
- what you want to use Augment for.
Every step can be skipped and the whole flow can be closed. Until it's finished, a "Finish setting up" card on the dashboard takes you back to where you stopped. You can change all of it later in Settings.
What your subjects change
Your six subjects go to the top of the question bank and notes, and the dashboard and quick fire start from them. Nothing is hidden: every subject stays open to you. More in Subjects and levels.
Where things are
The sidebar on a computer, or the tab bar on a phone, has the dashboard and each part of Augment. Your picture opens the account menu: Settings, the theme, the focus timer and log out.
Press ? on a computer to see every keyboard shortcut. G then a letter jumps between sections: G Q for the question bank, G N for notes, G F for flashcards.
Forgotten your password
Use Forgot password on the log in page. We email a link if the address has an account; the page says the same thing either way, so nobody can use it to find out who has an account. The link opens a page where you set a new password, which signs you out on your other devices.
