A hypothesis test for the mean of a normal population with known standard deviation $\sigma$, using the statistic $z = \frac{\bar{x} - \mu_0}{\sigma/\sqrt{n}}$, which follows the standard normal distribution when the null hypothesis is true.

An input of a function at which the output is 0; the zeros of $f$ are the roots of $f(x) = 0$ and the $x$-coordinates of the points where the graph of $y = f(x)$ meets the $x$-axis.

The rule that any non-zero number raised to the power 0 equals 1, so $a^0 = 1$ for $a \ne 0$.
